Super Quick Five Spice Chicken Noodles
A 15-minute, high-protein noodle stir-fry (~42g protein) with a sweet-savoury five spice sauce. Adapted from HelloFresh.

Ingredients
- 240g diced chicken breast
- 150g green beans, cut into thirds
- 80g sliced mushrooms
- 1 tsp Chinese five spice
- 125g egg noodle nest
- 1 tsp oil for cooking
- Salt and pepper
- For the sauce:
- 50g ketjap manis (or 25g dark soy + 1 extra tbsp honey)
- 25ml soy sauce
- 15ml rice vinegar
- 75ml water
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
Method
- Boil the kettle and pour into a saucepan with ½ tsp salt on high heat (for the noodles).
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium-high. Fry the chicken, green beans, mushrooms and five spice for 6-8 min until the chicken is golden and cooked through. Season.
- Boil the noodles for 4 min. Drain and rinse under cold water.
- Stir all the sauce ingredients into the chicken pan. Stir-fry 1-2 min until glossy.
- Add the drained noodles and toss to coat. Heat 1-2 min more, with a splash of water if it tightens up.
